Client Profile
Name: Red Conger
Handicap: 34
Most recent visit to Cool Clubs: August 2009
What has been your experience with Cool Clubs?
It has been awesome. I was worried, being a high handicapper, that I would be intimidated or uncomfortable. When I first arrived, I was a little nervous but I was amazed once we got started I told my fitter, "you know, you make this fun." I had a great time and a great experience. It was really educational to see all the different things they can measure and tell you about. As soon as I could, I brought my significant other in to get her a set of clubs.
Where have you seen improvement?
The biggest thing for me is on many more shots including my putting I address the ball with much more confidence because I know why I am doing what I am doing. I'm keeping much closer track of how far the ball goes. And I find myself making arrangements to sneak in a round and I never would have done that before.
Would you recommend Cool Clubs to your fellow golfers?
I already have. I immediately recommended them to my significant other and also to several business associates who have commented on how much my game has improved.

Greetings
Fall is in full gear at Cool Clubs.
From a new facility at the Hank Haney Golf Ranch in Lewisville, Texas, to testing of the latest equipment at our headquarters and even some advancements in our Custom Buildshop - at Cool Clubs, we're more prepared than ever to help you play better golf.
See you soon,
Cool Clubs
Cool Clubs CEO, Mark Timms, discusses Cool Clubs recent expansion to the Hank Haney Golf Ranch.
What's new at Cool Clubs?
We recently opened a new facility in Lewisville, Texas on site at the Hank Haney Golf Ranch at Vista Ridge.
How has the new facility been received by the Lone Star State?
It has done very well to start with. The new bay has all the advancements in club fitting that we have here at the headquarters including several thousands of club demos and configurations as well as experienced fitters. So clients are getting the full benefits of what we offer.
What kind of experience can golfers expect from the new site?
At the Ranch, we have an indoor and outdoor bay so that equipment can be tested under a variety of conditions. We also incorporated the Trackman Launch Monitor technology as well as our computer software program. Golfers can get fit for woods, irons, hybrids and custom wedges at the Hank Haney Golf Ranch location.
Cool Club's Custom Buildshop recently added a deeper level of precision to its club-making process.
Having already acquired a positive reputation among touring professionals, Cool Clubs is now utilizing the Pure Specs Shaft Alignment System for locating the most stable plane on the golf shaft. And while that may seem like a lot of technical jargon, what it translates into for most golfers is an enhanced level of feel from take-away to finish.
"The Shaft Alignment System puts the golf shaft in its most stable plane, which is equal to the best playing position of the golf club," says Jerry Hoefling, Master Club Builder at Cool Clubs. "Using the machine during the club building process will help to increase on-center hits and also help ensure tighter golf shot dispersion."
Hoefling says an upside to employing the machine, which is produced by SST Golf, is that it repeatedly orients the shaft in its most optimal position for every golfer, every time. "Translating that on the course could mean more fairways and greens hit, better precision and possible distance gains as well," Hoefling says.
In addition, the Pure Specs Shaft Alignment System also measures the torque of the golf shaft. What most golfers don't realize is that a club's torque, or resistance to twisting, is the shaft action most associated with how a club feels throughout a swing.
"Usually for a stronger player you are looking for something with less torque and for someone with a little slower swing speed, we might want something with a higher torque," Hoefling says. "If, for example, someone had a high swing speed and had clubs with too much torque, it might feel too whippy to them. With this machine we are able to get actual torque readings of the golf shafts. It’s more or less an aspect of feel based on numbers."
This fall marks the release of several top-of-the-line products from the major golf manufacturers. If not already in stock, these products will be available at Cool Clubs upon their release.
