Custom Wedges and Putters

Custom Wedges and Putter For The Discerning Golfer

The Cool Clubs Custom Design Studio takes custom club making to the highest art. The focus is on your short game—wedges and putter—and we personalize these into precise scoring instruments tailored to your swing and common playing conditions.

This high end customization process includes hand-crafted quality materials and ultimate aesthetics, delivering clubs as pleasing to the eye as they are effective on the course. With custom grinds and precision weighting techniques we fine tune your wedges and putter to the exact specifications needed for your peak performance.

The Custom Design Studio incorporates the following concepts into making your custom wedges:

Bounce

Bounce is how easily the wedge digs into the ground. The lower the bounce, the more knifelike a wedge is and the more easily it will dig into the playing surface. The higher the bounce, the more it resists digging into the surface and be more apt to bounce off the ground. Low bounce is optimum for firm playing surfaces while high bounce is better for soft surfaces. For steeper golf swings that produce deeper divots, a higher bounce will be recommended.

Effective Bounce

Effective bounce is how much bounce the golf club plays during the golf swing. For example, a narrow sole width promotes a lower effective bounce than a wider sole width. Thus, if two wedges have the same bounce of 10 degrees but one has a narrower sole, the wedge with the narrower sole will have a lower effective bounce. As the sole width decreases, the effective bounce decreases as well.

Heel Toe Grind & Custom Thinned Hosel

Aggressive heel and toe relief and a custom thinned hosel allow for optimum versatility around the greens. The heel and toe relief allow the club head to be easily opened up for greenside flop shots. The thinned hosel helps to resist long grass from grabbing the club head through impact, which otherwise results in twisting of the club head for off center and misdirected shots.

Dual Bounce Grind

The Dual Bounce Grind is an addition to the Heel Toe Grind. After the Heel Toe Grind is created, the Dual Bounce Grind creates a low-bounce leading edge. This promotes crisp contact with the golf ball. As the low bounce leading edge makes sharp contact with the ball, it is followed by a high bounce trailing edge. Turf or sand builds up in the channel and into the high bounce section of the sole. This resists full digging into the ground. When you open the face up for bunker shots, the high bounce will come into effect and will resist digging into the sand. This grind gives the benefit of a high and low bounce wedge.
