PING’s new G425 driver line continues the brand’s efforts to produce stable and forgiving drivers, blending high MOI with shot-shaping features and the added bonus of keeping coveted ball speed on off-center hits. The three iterations of the G425 – G425 Max, G425 LST and G425 ST – each feature a pear-shaped, 8-1-1 titanium chassis and a thin forged T9S+ titanium face designed to broaden the sweet spot across a larger area. The rough texture of the of the face is said to reduce spin as well. And, keeping with the common theme over recent seasons, each G425 driver comes with the ever-popular crown “turbulators” which claim to create a more aerodynamic downswing and increase speed.
Each iteration of the PING G425 driver line is now available for fittings at your Cool Clubs location and stay tuned for new information from the award-winning master fitters and builders at Cool Clubs coming soon!
Here’s what PING has to say about their G425 drivers:
G425 MAX elevates the moment of inertia to PING’s highest level in history. Forgiveness comes mainly from a 26-gram tungsten movable weight, made possible by weight savings from advancements in the driver’s dragonfly crown technology. The CG-shifting weight can be set in neutral, draw or fade. A T9S+ forged face increases flexing for adding distance. Available in 9°, 10.5° and 12°.
The draw-biased SFT model (Straight-Flight Technology) is engineered to bring shots back on-line and into the fairway. A fixed 23-gram tungsten weight shifts the CG closer to the heel to accentuate right-to-left shot bend (RH golfers) compared to the G425 Max. The proprietary T9S+ forged face increases flexing and helps add distance. Available in 10.5°.
The LST model is designed with a pear-shaped, 445cc head to greatly reduce spin, a benefit for faster-swing-speed players. A proprietary T9S+ forged face accelerates face flexing for more distance. The head employs a 17-gram CG shifter with Draw, Neutral, Fade settings to fit your swing and desired ball flight. Available in 9° and 10.5°.
Features and Benefits
Lower Spin
The pear-shaped, 445cc head reduces spin approximately 200-400 rpm compared to the G410 LST, promoting a flatter, lower-launching trajectory for faster swing speeds. A 17-gram CG shifter can be set to Draw, Neutral or Fade to fit your swing and desired ball flight.
Precision Forged Face
A proprietary high-strength, precision-machined T9S+ forged face maximizes flexing to deliver fast ball speeds and more distance.
Fast Design
Refined crown turbulators reduce aerodynamic drag for increased swing speed and ball velocity.
Easy Adjustability
Trajectory Tuning 2.0 utilizes a lightweight, aerodynamic hosel sleeve that provides eight positions to customize your trajectory for maximum distance and accuracy.
Trajectory Tuning Chart
Trajectory Tuning 2.0 in the G410 utilizes a lightweight, aerodynamic hosel sleeve that provides eight positions for influencing ball flight through loft (±1.5°) and lie adjustments, including up to 3° flatter than standard.
Internal Dragonfly®
With Dragonfly technology, weight savings from the Ti 8-1-1 ultra-thin crown are redistributed within the head and back weight to increase MOI and optimize the CG for more distance and forgiveness.
Internal Ribbing
PING engineers developed an internal rib structure in the Ti 8-1-1 body, reinforcing key sections of the head to improve acoustics for a solid, pleasing sound and better feel.
