With over 25 years of experience in the golf industry, I bring a deep passion and extensive expertise to my role. My journey began as a Golf Professional at Rancho Bernardo Inn in San Diego, and I played a pivotal role in the opening of The Meadows Del Mar, now known as The Grand Del Mar. For the past 23 years, I have specialized in club fitting with renowned companies like Hot Stix Golf and Cool Clubs.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with many PGA Tour players, including Matt Kuchar for over 14 years, as well as LPGA, Champions Tour, and Korn Ferry Tour players. While it has been rewarding to collaborate with elite golfers, my true passion lies in working with everyday players. Whether they are juniors, beginners, high handicap golfers, or scratch players, I find immense joy in helping each individual enhance their game.

There is nothing more fulfilling than seeing a customer’s face light up after hitting a shot they never thought possible. My primary goal is to ensure that every golfer I fit has the right equipment to “play better golf.” By improving their game, I believe they will find more enjoyment in the sport and be inspired to play more often.

I’m a proud Wisconsin native who traded in my snow boots for golf shoes after attending the University of Minnesota. Looking to escape the harsh winters and embrace a sunnier lifestyle, I moved to Arizona, where I’ve spent over 30 years in the golf industry. For the past two decades, I’ve focused on perfecting my skills in club fitting, driven by a passion for helping golfers of all skill levels reach their full potential through personalized equipment solutions.

My deep knowledge of club technology and performance is matched only by my enthusiasm for mentoring aspiring golfers. Whether I’m working with a seasoned player looking to fine-tune their game or a newcomer just starting out, I take pride in sharing insights that enhance their experience on the course.

When I’m not fitting clubs or offering tips, you’ll find me outdoors, soaking in Arizona’s breathtaking landscapes, or enjoying quality time with family and friends.

I’ve been a Fitter at Cool Clubs since 2012, but before that, I worked as a club professional at various clubs in Las Vegas, Carson City, and El Paso. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, in Southeastern Washington and North Idaho, always surrounded by the golf business since my dad was a PGA Club Professional and my mom worked as a Merchandiser in various golf shops. I regained my amateur status in 2015 and have had some success at the state level in Arizona, even qualifying for a USGA event in 2019.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with players of all levels, from PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions players to LPGA athletes and complete beginners. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me playing and practicing at Arrowhead Country Club!

With a passion for golf that began when I was seven, I’ve dedicated the past six years to helping golfers of all skill levels enhance their game through expertly fitted equipment. As a self-proclaimed “golf nerd,” I have always found the equipment side of golf to be the most fascinating. My journey began as a junior, where I was fortunate to learn from exceptional fitters who instilled in me the importance of custom fitting for achieving consistent results.

Following my college golf career, I transitioned into the industry, starting in golf retail. I quickly found my way into the fitting bay, eager to share the insights and knowledge I had gained from both my mentors and competitive experiences. I believe club fitting should be a collaborative process, merging player feedback with data analysis to identify the perfect clubs for your game.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with a diverse range of golfers—from beginners to tour pros—empowering each player with insights to elevate their performance on the course. My goal is not only to leave you with better-fitting equipment but a deeper understanding of your game. Like many golfers I work with, I love playing whenever possible, though I don’t always have time to work on my game. Having equipment that was specifically fit and built for me gives me the confidence in knowing what to expect on the course even when I’m not at my best. Born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, I’ve spent the last eight years dedicated to helping golfers of all skill levels navigate and improve the not-so-perfect game of golf. A big part of that journey has been through custom club fitting, where I’ve seen firsthand how the right equipment can transform a player’s confidence and consistency.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the world’s top athletes, including Josh Hader and Hines Ward. But while I enjoy the challenge of working with elite talent, my true passion lies in helping high-handicap golfers. There’s nothing better than watching someone light up when a properly fit club helps them hit it longer, straighter, and with more control than they thought possible.

When I’m not helping golfers find their perfect fit, you’ll probably find me on the course testing new gear or relaxing out at the lake.

Born and raised in the Chicagoland area, John moved to Phoenix in 2001 to pursue a professional golf career. With numerous pro events under his belt, he maintains a remarkable +4 handicap.

Since joining the Coolclubs team in 2015, John has worked with everyone from PGA and LPGA Tour players to beginners, specializing in putting and short game. Many clients return for his expertise in full swing, short game, and putting lessons.

In 2022, John became the full-time manager of the Coolclubs Performance Center at Sunridge Canyon Golf Club, where he invites all golfers interested in a Tour Fitting to experience his tailored approach.

Clare Cornelius, Master Club Fitter, has been a member of the Cool Clubs team since November of 2013, and the Northern California store manager since 2016. She has a passion for the game, and a passion to help players of all skill levels improve and enjoy golf while dialing in their equipment needs. She has been interviewed by and collaborated with major online golf publications, MyGolfSpy and GolfWRX. Clare is proficient in Trackman, S3 fitting software, and has an extensive knowledge of the game itself. She played division 1 collegiate golf at Butler University before transitioning into coaching at the high school level, and finally golf retail and club fitting. While she is not in the office she likes to spend her time keeping up on her own game, competing in NCGA amateur events, along with her other hobby, nature photography.

Grayson McClung has been a Master Club Fitter with the Cool Clubs team since April 2019. Prior to joining the team, Grayson was an enthusiastic member of the golf operation at TPC Harding Park. A true ‘gearhead’, Grayson is constantly expanding his knowledge in the latest technologies that are driving golf equipment today. Grayson’s passionate demeanor ensures there is never a dull moment during fittings. When not at work, you can find him both on the ball golf course and the disc golf course, testing his game in all things golf!

My golf journey began at age 12, when my grandfather introduced me to the game one summer—and I’ve been hooked ever since. I chased the goal of finally beating him for years, working hard to improve my game and eventually reaching a 3 handicap at my best.

Since high school, I’ve dedicated myself to club fitting, earning master fitter certifications across multiple brands. I’ve had the privilege of working with professional athletes, talented junior golfers, and players of every skill level. Hearing their stories of improvement and success is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. No matter the level, proper fitting truly elevates a golfer’s game—I’ve seen it countless times.

There’s something special about watching a player find the club that unlocks their best performance. I’m passionate about building equipment that complements each golfer’s unique swing, and I love the challenge of solving that puzzle. Ultimately, my goal is simple: to make this already difficult game just a little bit easier for every player I work with.
